You never know what you'll see outside of the Ft. Myers airport.  Since we saw a 2 foot alligator while we were swimming at a pool last year, I didn't have a strong desire to see a panther crossing the road.  The sign was scary enough for me.

On Sanibel Island outside of Ft. Myers.

Ryan tries his hand at photography by taking the photo on the right.  We stopped by a Nana's Restaurant at the Sanibel Island marina for lunch and had a 20 minute wait.  Jeff and Ryan decided to see all of the boats to kill some time.  Some of the boats are larger than our first apartment.

It's also enjoyable to relax during a vacation.

We took a day trip to St. Augustine, Florida on the Atlantic coast to visit a Spanish fort built in 1565.  You can see the top half of the fort above the sign in the photo on the right.

The Spanish fort had about 20 different kinds of canons.  The kids found one that was just their size.  Ryan had to inspect it from every angle.  I'm wondering if Ainsley ever thought about firing the canon to launch her brother over the wall.  Ha, ha, ha.

Ryan enjoyed chasing the drift wood as the waves knocked down his "trap" and carried it away.  I think Ryan saw a cartoon where a box was leaning against a stick.  When the stick fell down, it would trap what ever was underneath the box.  So anything supported by a stick was a trap to him.

Ainsley enjoyed the sand more than the water.
