Betsi and I flew to Chicago for a friend's wedding that was held in a building that over looked Wrigley Field.  The Chicago Cubs were to play the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:00pm during the ceremony.  Due to a 4.5 hour rain delay, the wedding had to take place indoors instead of the roof top.

The TV camera with the yellow tarp swung around and recorded part of the wedding ceremony.  There were even cheers from passers by.

As Betsi and I were saying our good-byes, the airline called our cell phone to tell us our flight was canceled and booked us on one for the next morning.  We don't fly much, but are frequent flyer members anyway.  That phone call allowed us to stay an extra 3 hours and made me understand the benefits of membership and having a cell phone.  Only members received a call.

Ryan's first day of kindergarten with some of his friends from the neighborhood, Roy (center) and Louis (right).

This was Ryan's first T-Ball game on the 6th.  Each batter gets 5 chances to hit the ball that is lobbed over home plate.  If they can't hit it, then the tee is brought out.  There weren't any prior practices, so we saw a lot of learning that day.  Ryan and some of the other kids didn't know what to do after the ball was hit or that you didn't have to carry the bat with you to first base.  You also didn't need to run after a ball half way across the field.  I'm sure there will be a night and day difference by the end of October when the season ends.  Betsi takes him to the Wednesday practices and we all go to the Saturday games.

What do you do after a hurricane?  Go to the beach, of course.  Our area was spared from major damage from hurricane Isabel on Thursday, September 18th as it ripped through North Carolina and Virginia.  We heard on the news that Ocean City, Maryland had good weather, no crowds, and almost no damage.  These photos were taken by one of the beach photographers that sells key chain photos.  Ainsley is too young to be in that pose, but that was part of the humor in that photo.
